Receiving Registration Papers Typically only breeders can register a purebred cat , so you’ll have to initially get these documents from them. Often times there is a stipulation in the purchase contract that mandates the cat must be neutered in order to receive the registration papers .
If you find a lost or stray cat , the first thing to do is to take the cat to a vet or any Petsmart with a Banfield inside to have it scanned for a microchip (they will do this free of charge).
You can update your contact details by contacting the pet microchip registry your pet is enrolled with. Visit the company’s website for information on updating your pet’s record online, or to get the telephone number to call.

Here’s what you need to know if you want to find out what breed your cat is. What Breed Is My Cat ? If you are more flexible and are willing to watch your cat’s personality develop, consider getting a mixed breed whose traits are not predictable.
