All about cats
Goose Is Probably Still Alive — And Very Cute — In ‘Endgame’ Spoilers ahead for Captain Marvel. In addition to welcoming Carol Danvers (Brie Larson) to the MCU, Captain Marvel brought us the instantly irreplaceable Goose — an alien being called a Flerken masquerading as a tabby cat .
Fury plays off the cat scratch like it was no big deal afterwards — and usually cat scratches aren’t. The only problem is that Goose isn’t actually a cat ! Coulson says that he heard that Fury lost his eye in an attack by the Kree while he’d been protecting the Tesseract.
At the end of it all, when the battle is over, we finally learn how Nick Fury lost his eye . He’s playing with the very good kitty Goose, when the cat /Flerken scratches the eye right out of his head. Even though Fury is presented with an assortment of replacement eyes , he chooses to wear an eye patch instead.
Goose is actually, technically, none of those things, because he’s not, really, a cat at all . Goose is a Flerken , and maybe one of the deadliest aliens the MCU’s ever seen.
Goose may play a key role in Avengers: Endgame At the end of the movie, Goose sits in a cat bed in the corner of Fury’s office at S.H.I.E.L.D. In fact, earlier in the movie Goose swallowed up the Tesseract to hide the Infinity Stone inside from the Kree.
8, issue #1, flerkens are a very rare, apparently extremely dangerous alien animal with human-level intellect that just happens to look indistinguishable from earth cats. They’re also able to do some really freaky things. For starters, they lay eggs and can reproduce asexually, and in great quantities.
Which means that Talos has been incognito as Fury for up to 8-months after Avengers: Endgame.
His scratches also seem to be mysteriously powerful, as one scratch is able to permanently ruin Nick Fury’s eye. In the comics, Flerken are also able to use their pocket dimensions to instantly travel across dimensions, so we will have to see if Goose utilizes this ability in the movies.
Though they’ve had peaceful periods in their history and not all members of their race are evil , the Kree -Skrull War storyline shows them as deceptive killers.
In the comics, Fury lost his eye after complications from a Nazi grenade blast and in an explosion during the Gulf War.
Her name was Sharon Hannah Imogen Emmanuella Lara Davis. Initials, SHIELD. Seriously though, I don’t think Nick Fury was married in the MCU, he was just using that as a cover to show Cap that SHIELD was compromised, infested with Hydra sleeper agents.
Jackson reveals Nick Fury’s ‘superpower’ Nick Fury may not be able to fly through the skies, manipulate time and space, crush buildings with the swing of his fist, or behead an intergalactic tyrant with his mystical battle-axe, but he does actually have a superpower “That’s his superpower.”
Well, it could mean, theoretically, that the Flerken will be able to hold the other Infinity Stones inside herself. And that she could even swallow the Infinity Gauntlet, perhaps snatching it right off Thanos ‘ hand. Indeed, Goose could well be integral to procuring the Gauntlet and/or transporting it as necessary.
Presumably at some point, Stark gave Lawson the Tesseract . Lawson had hidden the Tesseract in a cloaked ship; after the big showdown of the film, her cat /Flerken Goose swallows the cube. He coughs it back up in the movie’s second post-credits sequence when Fury’s office is still decked out in clunky 90s technology.
Skrulls can be good , bad , or in the middle. The ones we see in Captain Marvel and Spider-Man: Far From Home are on the side of good . However that doesn’t mean that there aren’t other Skrulls out there that are just as evil as the Kree describe them to be.
